Tower Gardening at TLA

March 9, 2018

Ms. Christie and Ms. Leonna's three year old class is growing an indoor garden this spring. Dr. Victor Payton and his wife Gwen came today to teach our class the basics of growing a tower garden...without DIRT! The Paytons helped our class plant seeds in rock wool to which the kids added vermiculite and then watered and put in a basket on our tower garden. Today, we planted lettuce, arugula, basil and swiss chard. We have room for more plants and next week we plan to add some tomato, eggplant, cucumber and strawberry seedlings. To quote Knox, "I can't wait to see it explode!" I do hope he means in growth. Check back next week to see how are garden is growing.
